Brahms Requiem: November 2025

This November, Waterford’s Notable Works Choir, together with the Wexford Festival Singers, will undertake two very special performances of Brahms most famous work: Ein Deutsches Requiem / The German Requiem.

The concert will bring together 140 singers as Notable Works Choir will be joined by the Wexford Festival Singers, soprano Róisin O’Grady and baritone Eoin Power, and the Waterford Concert Orchestra of 42 musicians, with Dr. Kevin O’Carroll conducting.

Founded in 2017, Notable Works is a project choir based in Waterford City. Choral singers from Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny and Tipperary come together annually to sing large scale orchestral choral works under the baton of Dr. Kevin O’Carroll.

Notable Works first choice for performance was Messiah by G.F. Handel. Accompanied by instrumentalists from Musici Ireland, concerts were held in Waterford and Kilkenny. In Spring 2018 they joined with Wexford Festival Singers for a performance of the Fauré Requiem in Waterford and Wexford. Other large scale works undertaken by the choir include The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins and The Creation by Joseph Haydn.

In November 2025, Notable Works will come together with Wexford Festival Singers to sing Ein Deutsches Requiem / A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms with soprano Róisin O’Grady and Baritone Eoin Power, and Waterford Concert Orchestra (42 piece), conducted by Dr. Kevin O’Carroll. Performances will take place in the National Opera House in Wexford on Sunday 9th November and in St. John’s Church in Waterford on Sunday 30th November.
